Why do so many people use Yahoo! Answers when 90% of the answers can be found by a simple Google search?

Honestly, I have thought this one through. The top 2 reasons I believe are:

1) People, especially young teenagers have a lot of questions. A lot of the time, they are completely idiotic and stupid to even ask... But the kids think they need to ask everyone else on Y! Answers just because they honestly want the attention. Which in a way, I think is similar to "Myspace whores" who want to just add everyone in the whole world for no real reason

2)Once in a while people will search something on a search engine and Yahoo will have the best answer because someone has already asked it on here before. Also, I think searching through results and comments in forums can be quite frustrating. Yahoo! Answers has a nice and easy design so it's comfortable to flow through and find your answer.

Googling.

Many people want a personal touch to their questions, or don’t want to wade through pages of websites.

Recently I had to get a new keyboard and it had a round plug on it. There are two round sockets at the back of the computer and I didn’t know which to use.

As a test I asked the question on which one to use. (on the old keyboard)

I then started to use the Yahoo search to find out for myself and I was still looking for a site when I got an answer. Within 5 minutes.

Not only did the answerer have the correct answer, he also supplied a web page with a photograph and more details.

a) I want answers from people I know on here

b) In the subjects I tend to discuss such as adoption and so on they require personal experience. Sometimes you want the personal experience of people. Even if there are opinions on other sites it's good to get that immediate or more personal response to your specific question.

c) questions on here are not always about facts but rather viewpoints. I have often looked something up but been confused with conflicting information so I came on here to ask and it was clarified for me. For instance ages ago I asked about dog ownership and whether it's okay to be single, work and be able to own a happy dog and if you search online most websites say it's not while owners who have first hand experience have different views.

Maybe they are not searching for facts but opinions ... so that 10% use yahoo answers.... nuff said ?
