please answer my quisiton about "catcher in the rye"?

the catcher in the rye is one of the most studied books in American High Schools. why do you think it is so often and so widely taught?

    because its a book that perfectly represents "teenage angst", which is prevalent in teenagers going through high school. kind of like 'sex ed'. and i think that had many controversies. i think you can read it from its wikipedia page :)
