Can i use kingsford charcoal lighter to refill my zippo?
I just bought a zippo from a guy at the mall who sells no fluid..... He says i can get some cheap at wal-mart but i'd rather use something i already own so i don't have to spend any unnecessary money? Will this work as lighter fluid or will it break my new zippo wind-proof lighter? Please help me out?!

Zippos come with a lifetime guarantee, so that you won't be out more than the cost of shipping the lighter to the company. Still, I would not cheap out on filling it. Lighter fluid does not cost all that much. That said, when I ran out of fluid with nowhere to buy more, I did extend the usefulness of my lighter for a week or thereabouts by using isopropyl alcohol to dilute the fluid. It did not last until I got back to the US, though.

It may smoke more than purpose-made lighter fluid which is highly refined - but it's all basically kerosene.
