which is the equation of a line that passes through point (1,0) and is perpendicular to line 4y=-2+8?

I'm so horrible at math it's not even funny.

I have a test tomorrow so I need to know this.

Update:

4y=-2x+8

sorry!

    The "perpendicular to line" portion of your question is missing an x somewhere. You probably meant either:

    4y = -2x + 8 or

    4y = -2 + 8x

    Because this line has no x variable, it must be horizontal (y is only ever one thing), therefore the perpendicular line is vertical. Now you just have to write the equation of a vertical line that goes through (1,0), which is x=1.
