Eyeglasses: Do you get what you pay for?

I am 22 years old and looking to buy my first pair of glasses. They are only for reading. I have been to three different stores. At the first, I found glasses for $50 (frames included, same price for every power). At Lenscrafters they charge $350 for lenses and at least $100 for frames. I then went to a Chinese place that sells lenses for $80 and frames for about $100 to start.

Could experienced glasses wearers please give me some guidance?

Thanks!

Buy what you like and what you can afford. If the frames are super-cheap, there is generally a reason. However, you don't need super-expensive frames- especially since your prescription can generally change even slightly...sometimes in as little as a year- your optometrist might change your prescription because one fits you better...

I found reasonably priced glasses at Davis Vision...they had lots of choices in frames and the frames were reasonably priced.

You kinda do get what you pay for, but since you only want them for reading: try the cheapest pair first - if you get headaches or they bother you too much, then you will need to try the more spendy options.
