Skipping my period by not taking the "sugar" pills?
I'm going on vacation next month and my period would be the same week I'm going so I want to skip it. I've never done it before so need some info. I take Ortho TriCyclen Lo. So I take my pills as normal and once I get to the sugar pills when I would have my period, I would just skip those and start a new pack correct? Am I going to feel sick or have cramps? How long and how much will I spot? Is it safe to do this? Please answer all questions throughly! Thanks!

How long have you been on the B/C? My doctor told me after three months of B/C I could start skipping the iron pills and have my period every three months. So just skip the iron pills and start a new pack right away. Continue that pack as normal with 3 weeks of B/C and then on the 4th week take the iron pills. You should ask your doctor about skipping the 4th week on a regular basis. I'm guessing you don't actually want your period every month lol. My boobs hurt too much on B/C so I get my period whenever my body decides. =[ I don't think you will spot too much. How was your spotting when you first started the B/C? Should be a lot less mild than that. YES it is safe!!! There is no need for a monthly period unless you want it or have another condition that you don't have control over.
