Acoustic Guitar Question!!!?

In this link, what is it the flat piece with the wire that this guy has just over the hole in his guitar? Not the capo on the strings, but the little brown thing where he is strumming? What does it do?

:] Thank you!

The other answerers are right :) I'll just confirm it for 2 points (hehe). It is a mic/pickup that records the sound and plays it through an amplifier. Like an electric guitar.

From the description, I'd guess that's a pickup. It works like one in an electric guitar. With magnets, it detects the vibration of the strings and sends the signals to an amplifier from which he can blast it out for his neighbors to hear.

since there is no link, it is a pick up for an amp or recording device.
