Some Veteran was telling me to join the military, so I told him off, & he ran after me in my home & beat me?
I was just minding me own business sitting outside in my front yard, trying to dry up my cold, when Some nutcase who said he was a veteran told me to join the military. I said no, I would never ever join. He was going on saying i am stealing freedom or something, i dont get it all.
But i bluntly said No, and he kept insisting, so I said to him..
I said, No, I am not going to slaughter millions of iraqi people because some con men in washington want to steal oil, and make profits. I said 911 was a inside job, and the same reasons they are there for iraq, they are there for afganistan .I am not going to be used as a pawn for a greater evil. I would never ever join, no matter what, I would rather die.
He stared at me in silence for 10 seconds, and grabed my shirt, and said he was going to blow my brains out all over the sidewalk, so i ran inside, and he chased after me, i tried to shut the door, but he forced his way and and gave me a 20-second beating, it felt more like 20 minutes. I have a swollen eye, the size of a tennis ball.
He is out on bail on simple assult, but How can i get him charged with breaking and entering, I heard if you go into someones home without there permission, its like a 10-20 year jail sentence, He has not been charged with that, and I feel the police, are siding with him, because he is a war veteranm, and trying to help him get away with it.
Can I sue the police dept for there corruption? Should I get a lawyer? How can I get him charged with more offenses, and can i get him for civil damages as well, such as the dook is busted, and window is smashed.
Please Help.

The guy was crazy, but it's not entirely his fault. I think he was just trying to measure you up for military training, and after 20 seconds he found out you wouldn't last, well, more than 20 seconds.
I'm sorry you had to go through that, but I'm siding with the guy. You shot your mouth off against a WAR vet, do you even know how much that guy's been through? You switched on his "fight button", just be thankful he didn't have a gun with him, or maybe he did, but decided you weren't worth the bullet.

That vet though wrong to kick the crap out of you will probably, if he's smart, be tested for PTSD. He'll likely get away with it too because there are so many symptoms anger and lashing out being included. Your best bet is to try and settle out of court. Me being a vet am lucky enough to have the picture of airplanes crashing into US buildings to make me want to go. Also, Afghanis are purposely getting trained on ways to get into the US and kill ordinary people like yourself. Soldiers know there is a chance of dying but average citizens don't think like that. They don't get to see grown men putting bombs on their children and blowing them up just to kill one soldier. You don't find those tactics disturbing at all? If some gangsters take over your neighborhood to steal food do you think it justifies blowing up your children to "show them?" I think grown ups start wars so leave the kids out of it.
