Yeah the genre Emotive Hardcore(emo) died in the late 90's.
People just label any band "emo" cause of their image & not what is in their lyrics which is so stupid. If a band wears black or even a little bit of eyeliner then they're put into the "emo category"
Take Green Day for example, Billie wears eyeliner & black clothes so they're lumped in the "emo category" yet the music they play isn't depressing at all.
It's just pure ignorance, just ignore it. That's what I do :)
