Assault prevention, have you ever been in a situation where you suspected you were going to be assaulted but..?

Well Im a big guy, so my size can deter some people from starting up with me...But there was this night my friends and i went to a bar and one of my friends drank a little bit too much and got into a verbal argument with a guy (who turned out to be the bar owner), about beer pong rules (a really stupid argument). Anyways, i swear every single one of these other guys were HUGE (jacked) and were looking for a fight. My buddy had his beer muscles on and was talking back to these guys (it was prob 2 on 6 at this time.

Anyways things escalted very fast and I knew that there was going to be a punch thrown. I hoped in the middle of the two (my friend and the owner) and started talking some sense into them. I was like "listen, first off this is the stupidest thing ive ever heard...you want to fight over beer pong. Lets just calm down and act like grown men". At this time one of my other friends told me that she knew that this guy was the owner of the bar. So what i did was i said "youre the owner? well first off lets think about this for a second...im not threating you in anyway, but i have trained in ufc fighting and i know what i am doing (that was a lie)...second, these girls over there (my friends), are all under 21 and if you guys throw a punch, ill have you guys closed down...i know every cop in this town my dad is a captain (that was a lie). This is what is going to happen, we are going to leave and you guys are going to stay here. This is the stupidest thing i have ever heard of in my entire life".

Anyways, it worked. We left and everything was fine after that. As it turns out though, two weeks after that, there was a shooting at the bar. Apparently the owner (same guy) got into an argument with some guy and he shot the kid. So, the point is, be VERY careful
