Federer gets his revenge against Gulbis!?
Federer defeated Gulbis 3-6 6-1 6-4
Quite an enjoyable match. Lots of highlights from both players.
Gulbis was the first to draw blood! Really out playing Federer in the first set to take it 6-3. But it was Federer who was able to keep his composure in the 2nd and the 3rd!
What did you think of the match?
Do you think were going to see a Fed-Nadal final again this year! I really hope they both can make it! Who do you want to see in the final?

it was a good match to watch and federer played well to come through, glad he didnt fold like last week against montanes. he knew gulbis' level of play would drop and he pounced when it did. good win and it should set him up nicely to get past ferrer.
as for the final i want federer to make it but im not sure who i want him to face.
if nadal makes the final he will get his #2 ranking back and this is how tennis should be, the best 2 in their rightful ranking positions making finals against each other. it would also take away the risk of fed and rafa being drawn in the same half of RG if they are seeded 1 and 2 and i would love to see them go up against each other in the final of RG.
but if almagro makes the final federer would have a much higher probability of winning the tournament which would be a perfect boost for him going into RG. it would also help roger overtake sampras' record of total weeks at #1.

I want to see a Federer-Nadal final. After Federer was down 0-3 in the first set, he looked poised to come back and played very well. I mean he was down early in the second, but I guess he kind of knew that Gulbis couldn't play so perfectly throughout the match because of pressure. Forza Federer! :)

The way Gulbis dropped off was disappointing. Why is it that everyone not named Nadal seems to fold against Fed when they get a lead? All credit to Fed, though. He looked like he was in trouble and he knows lots of players can't keep it up against him (still has that intimidation factor). Gulbis didn't serve very well later on and that's what cost him.

:D ya i thought Federer was done by the end of the first set. I don't know where that Gulbis came from..
I really hope Federer'll make it to the finals.. maybe with Nadal..
Just like a typical tennis final !! :D

I want a Federer-Nadal final because all the other players in the draw are too easy for Nadal, at least Federer will be able to trouble Nadal for a set and a half and most of their finals are always entertaining but we must not underestimate Ferrer, he has won the most matches on clay this season and could trouble Federer.
