Do you think Yahoo Answers should post specific guidelines violated?

Recently, I've asked two questions, both in the Polls&Survey Section. As far as I know, my questions didn't violate community guidelines or any real-world laws. The questions were reported and naturally I sent in appeals. It took like a week before I got any response from the customer care center. I end up getting two automated messages that said my appeal was not accepted, and no explanation. I'm not that concerned about the question getting deleted, but I want to avoid future mistakes. Why can't customer care tell me exactly what I did wrong?

Some people are just mean and nasty, but others (like me) are just ignorant of how their questions may be interpreted. I think it would be extremely beneficial if Yahoo Answers explained why an appeal was turned down. Your thoughts?

The staff have been asked this (on the Suggestion Board, where they tend to hang) many times. There are several reasons they can't, it seems. One is simply the amount of violations -- and appeals. If they had to research and post a reason for each one, things would take even longer than they already do. Another thing is that there seem to be some legal restrictions on what they can or can't say in emails on the site. So there is simply the generic granted/denied email and that's it.

If you want to know WHY your question was removed, you have a few options. You can post the content of the question here in this section and ask why. Many users here can help you figure it out. Or you can email a regular user with a lot of experience here (like me) and ask them. Many of us are more than willing to help with this type of thing. Finally, you can post on the Suggestion Board (at the ABOUT tab above) and ask there. The folks there also know a lot -- and sometimes even the staff will weigh in with their 'official' reasons for you.

Now, IMHO, if you posted something to Polls & Surveys, the most likely reason for the violation would be chatting. Virtually EVERY question in P&S is a chatting violation, anyway. But there simply are so MANY of them, that they can't all be reported and removed. Plus, it keeps them out of the rest of the site, for the most part.

I have had this happen to me too. I wanted to know why my question was deleted, but they could not tell me. Yahoo! Answers can only tell you if it is illegal and may involve going to court or being fined. I suggest you read the Community Guidelines. Repeat the question and all the information in your head, then you may realize why your question was deleted. It would be nice if Yahoo could tell us why are questions were turned down, but they get so many questions everyday, it is really hard. In the mean time, read the Community Guidelines and keep using Yahoo! Answers.

    I agree 100%

    Your Key Word..."Interpreted"

Like you said: "but others (like me) are just ignorant of how questions may be Interpreted".

I have asked and answered (?) questions (2) that were deleted.

I'm feel sure that my questions didn't break any guidelines.

I feel since they were "Quickly" deleted that they were "Interpreted" wrong.

It's different when an answer gets deleted because we all have time to read (if needed) it over a couple of times to make sure it against the guidelines.

"What is the most important to me is..........."This Is A Free Site"........... and I know it would be Very Expensive for Y!A's to hire the tons of staff that it would take to respond to the Thousands of questions that get Deleted each day.

We just have to take the good with the bad...."That's how "Life Is" anyway." :)

Then read the community guidelines and take the quiz. This will increase your comprehension of what is acceptable and what is not. Rule is a question must seek knowledge or advice beneficial to all.

It would be nice but virtually impossible when you consider they possibly receive thousands upon thousands of appeals every day.
