All else fails I use something called a ruler or tape measure. they have been around for centuries and they work really well to find out the size of something. You may want to Google how to use one

My axle nut socket set from Matco included 30mm, 32mm,34mm, 35mm, 36mm, 37mm and 38mm. I havent used it a lot but they have fit everything so far. Measure it, can't go wrong there if you know how to read a metric or standard tape measure.
