Recording a DVD in the UK and playing it in Russia?
If I recorded a DVD on my Toshiba DVD recorder or burnt a DVD on my PC would a friend of mine in Russia be able to play it on her equipment or is the format different.

It will play, the format is the same. Since burnt DVDs have no region code, there will be no issues there.
