Mosquitoes and Dragon flies lay their eggs in the water. Here the eggs incubate and emerge as larva. The larva spend their time developing through their instars until they pupate and emerges as adults.

Bees control their environment for their reproduction strategy. The bees can maintain a 92F in their hives even when the temperature is -60 F outside. They can also maintain the 92F when the outside temperatures and sun exposure tend to cause the rapid and dangerous increase in in internal hive temperatures

Aphids can lay eggs or give live birth depending on the need. They, like the bees, can decide whether they want to lay eggs that develop into males or females as determined by the environment's immediate conditions or in anticipation of the forthcoming conditions.. These are only three strategies employed by insects to to meet their reproductive needs according to the environment.
