2002 VW Golf sounds like airplane when driving?
I had new tires and allignment done, and now my car sounds really loud, almost like an airplane when I drive. It gets louder when I turn the wheel to the right and quieter when I turn it to the left. Other than that the car drives just fine. What could cause this?
Thanks adam, I mentioned the tires because it started right after I had them changed. I actually didn't notice it at first, my boyfriend did, and now I am aware of it all the time!

sounds like a leaky muffler or a loose pipe.
neither getting new tires or a wheel alignment would have anything to do with what you're describing.. you could take the back and have them reinspect what was done and see if they can give you an idea as to what is wrong.

New tires are probably ok, if what you described is true, turn to the left and right get loader and quieter, then you might have a bad wheel bearing, new tires just made less noise now so you can hear other stuff that is happening, try to determine which corner of the car the humming/rolling sound is coming from, LF, RF, RR, or LR to pin point bad bearings
