    Hello there,

    1) Charlie Christian. This guy made the electric guitar popular.

2). Leo Fender. Need I explain what Leo did with guitars and amps?

    3) George Fullerton. In case you don't know, the guy who worked with Leo all those years to develop the Fender guitars and amps.

    4) Dick Dale. The king of loud. Yes, most folks call him the king of surf. Probably true, but more importantly he was the king of loud. He was the guy who had Leo put 2 speakers in his amp and crank up the power.

    5) Jim Marshall. Surely this guy needs no introduction. He took Leo's Bassman and turned into the amp that rocked the world.

There have been a lot of great guitarists, singers and song writers, but not as important as the guys who gave us the tools. Dick gets in there not because he is one of the all time greatest guitar players, but because of his contribution. The ideas for amps and speaker cabs that he told his budyy Leo about.

The 6 people Rock Music would never have BEEN BORN without:

    Robert Johnson

Alan Lomax (...look this guy up, people!)

    Muddy Waters

    Chuck Berry / Little Richard

    Hank Williams

And the 7 it wouldn't have survived without

    (with respect to timeline):

    Paul McCartney

    Mick, Keith 'n Charlie

    Eric Clapton

    Jimmy Page

    Mr. Jimi

Jan Wenner (for the first 2 decades of his magazine, anyway--consider!!)

Source(s): Granted, Jeff Beck is nothing less than Eric, though I think beyond the scope of this discussion of immediate, direct absolute grandscale hold on "the masses".

No. Unless if they cite Satanic religious beliefs in the song, then that band may be Satanic. Other than that, as a genre, rock is not Satanic, same with Metal, Death Metal, Heavy Metal. For all you know, Nicki Minaj can be a freaking Satanist and you wouldn't even know that Kanye West's songs are about Satan.
