Rezai? Future top 10 player?

Is it me, or can this young woman rip the ball OMG....she looks to have such fierce groundstrokes, power, as much as The Williams Sisters, Dementieva, Stosur, Cljisters.....I have watched her a few times recently, and despite appearing as a go for broke type player, she has immense power....only could use some more patience however....do u think she can get to Venus in The Final, as well as gong deep at The French and can she reach the top 10? ( she isn't too far behind )

The first time I ever saw Rezai play was against Michelle Larcher de Brito in the 3rd round of last years French Open. It was the match that everyone became aware of de Brito's grunting. I remember how hard the two of those girls hit their groundstrokes! It was insane..I liked both of them after that..Than later that year, Rezai won the WTA Championships for lower ranked players, Bali. She beat the likes of countrywoman, Marion Bartoli.

Her best surface is clay, she needs time to set up for her power loaded shots..I think she could make a QF or SF appearance in the FO. She is in her prime, at age 23, sort of a late bloomer. All I know is I saw LOADS of potential in her during Madrid. She BAGELED, Justine Henin...ON CLAY. I consider her better than Bartoli, and Bartoli made it to a Wimbledon final..While I don't think Rezai will ever be top 3, I can see her hanging around 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, area for time to time..

She just won a Premier 5 event in defeating Venus Williams 6-2 7-5 in the final.

As this is the last chance to push rankings, she will be top 15 which is great because if it goes on seedings she should have a nice route to the 4th round, and then depending on who is in her half of the draw, we could see a French French Open Champion.

If she does well in the French Open then she could be top 10 in 3 weeks time.

How a player looks in a match, or even a single tournament isn't as important as their week in, week out body of work, and she hasn't shown that she is at the highest level yet. Yes, she is obviously hot in this tournament, but this is a player who has been on the tour for 5 1/2 years.

With that being said, if she can beat Venus in the final of any tournament, then I think she has the potential to be in the top 10.

I think she's somewhere around 20 right now. The level drops radically on the WTA tour after about the top 5.

i think if she can defeat venus in the final.. that is a good indicator... and this could produce a good rythum for her.. and she could find herself deep into the french open and wimbledon..

as she has also defeated henin in round one.. and defeated jankovic in the quater or semifinals.. both are very good clay court players..

so for her to defeat venus is certainly in the cards here!

but she has been playing for 5 - 6 years done relatively nothing.. and has never been a prescence on the tour.. if she can stay consistent.. and fit.. then she can do damage with the way she hits the ball..

a better ranking could be in the works here
