Portage can boast some of the best schools in the state at all levels of education and Kalamazoo currently has the Promise scholarship for highschool graduates to give them a free college opportunity. Kalamazoo Central just won a national vote to host President Obama to come and speak at their graduation ceremony. Portage also has many great hiking and biking trails throughout the city, and the area contains a mall, 3 movie theatres, and just about anything else you could ask for. It is the perfect location to live for anyone looking for the big city life or even the small city feel.
