I dream about dead people and my dead dog. Whats up with that?

Some say there just lucid dreams, and stored information of things we hold in our minds, but perhaps it's something more.

Often my train of thought gets me to believe that we are experiencing something of another life of reality, almost as if, a glimpse of a possible afterlife, or just another dimension of life, or even our current state of our infinite life. If the energy of my mind is aware and infinite, could it be that it's happening while my body sleeps and my eyes are closed? Just my opinion and of course a different way to view it.
