You need to know what kind of frog/toad it is. It really depends upon your area. Some toads are toxic to animals, people included. See if you can find the type of frog it was and go from there. By the way, MOST are harmless, but there are some out there that aren't.

@Drexl...I gave you a TU just to balance it out for you. :) Don't let the TD's get to you.

    I know...I'm awesome :P

Dogs have died from the poison in toads, it's very common. Their brains can swell and they can die. I lived with people who had a pitbull and this was almost a monthly thing (especially common in Florida). So he never died even though I had seen this at least 5 times. But he was a big dog so that probably plays a role. You should get a hose and rinse his mouth out for like 5 minutes. Bring him to emergency vet if he looks like he's getting worse or having problems standing. Also, try do the humane thing and make sure the frog isn't out there suffering if you can find it. He didn't intentionally do that to your dog. Kill the frog with a shovel or something and make sure it's dead if it looks like it's suffering badly and won't recover.

How'd I know I'd get the thumbs down for the humane comment. Silly me to respect all life, I should have known better.

@Jennifer, thank you :) You're the best friend I never had. Thanks to the 2 other people too lol. Glad there's still lots of considerate people in this world.

Do you have poisonous frogs in your area. If you don't I wouldn't worry about it. If you do, find an emergency vet. Your vet will probably have an emergency number.
