What vegan milk substitute tastes closest to cow's milk?

I tried soy milk before. I didn't really like it.

I was told that rice milk (brand: Rice Dream original) tasted like a "very light skim milk." While it probably tastes nothing like cow's milk, my recommendation to you is to try hemp milk (brand: Living Harvest Tempt). As the others have said, you're not going to find an imitation milk that tastes like cow's, so may as well go with somethin' that tastes good. Try a new one each week 'til you find something you like.

    Vegan Milk Substitute

if you really want cow's milk that much...you might as well just keep drinking it. The only substitute i've had experience with is Silk soy milk. That's what I drink. And yes, if you're used to cow milk, it is going to taste different, but if you stick to it you'll get used to the taste.

Silk brand has a few different flavors, and also unflavored. You can also try different brands of soy milk. There is also rice milk and almond milk. I haven't tried those, but i'm sure they all have different tastes, so i would suggest trying different kinds until you find one that you like.

For me, it was a good thing that non-dairy milk doesn't taste like dairy milk, since I hate the stuff. However, there is a lot of variation in flavor even among different brands of the soy milk, let alone different types of milks like almond, rice, oat or hemp. My advice is to try a lot of different brands and flavors and I'm sure you'll eventually find something you like.

I really like almond milk so I have been thinking of making my own cashew milk.

I've heard it is thicker and some use it as a non-dairy creamer or for vegan "cheese" sauces.

Nothing tastes like cow's milk, except milk from a cow. If you're vegan, don't make comparisons.

Try almond milk or rice milk, but don't expect it to taste like cow's milk.

I like almond milk personally. Regular soy milk did nothing for me so if I do buy soymilk, it's got to be vanilla.

I love almond milk, personally. Don't expect it to taste exactly like cow's milk or you'll be disappointed, but it is delicious. :)

I love, love, love almond milk. I don't drink milk straight up, but use almond milk for coffee, oatmeal, cereal, etc.
