How can i get my dog to act right on a leash?

He is a 9 month old German Shepard. He loves going for walks/runs on the leash but he always pulls and chokes himself. Its a regular collar and leash. He does well except for wanting to pull me the whole way. I know repetition and practice makes perfect but what are some good tips to help me and him?

Try using a Halti or Gentle leader. It is completely humane and works miracles!! You can get them at just about any pet supplies store and are relatively inexpensive.

Like the others said, a gentle leader, halti, or prong collar. I use a prong. It's also helpful to go to training classes.

Buy a choke collar, i have a spritzy dog, it doesn't hurt them and only costs $5. also, a basic training class is a huge help.

Gentle Leader. Best dog walking invention EVER.

before you go for a walk , why don't you train him for like an hour in your backyard or inside the house. for example: if he pulls ..... put your leg in front him so he stops. and when he stops give him a treat. that gives him the idea of walking slower .
