Why does Dolly write her own songs, and Reba McEntire, George Strait, George Jones and Tammy Wynette don't?

On average, she has written way more of her own songs than those three. She's also written songs that other have recorded.

Please, tell me why?

George Jones DOES write songs. And Dolly has recorded A LOT of songs that she did NOT write:

The entire "Best Little Whorehouse" soundtrack (save for "I Will Always Love You")

"It's My Time" (written by John D. Loudermilk)

"Dumb Blonde" (written by Curly Putman)

"Muleskinner Blues" (written by Jimmie Rodgers -- and a hit three times before Dolly did it)

"Just Someone I Used to Know" (written by Jack Clement)

"Islands in the Stream" (written by the Bee Gees)

Most of the "Just Because I'm a Woman" album (she only wrote four of the twelve songs on the album)

"D-I-V-O-R-C-E" (yes, she covered a song Tammy Wynette made famous)

Most of the "My Blue Ridge Mountain Boy" album (she only wrote five of the twelve songs on that album)

EVERYTHING off the "Golden Streets of Glory" album (that's right, she didn't write a single song on this album)

EVERYTHING off the album "My Favorite Songwriter: Porter Wagoner" (again, she contributed no songs to this album)

Four of the songs on "Bubbling Over"

Half of the "Here You Come Again" album (including the title track -- yes, she didn't write that big hit)

Six of the ten songs on "Great Balls of Fire"

Six of the ten songs on "Nine to Five and Odd Jobs"

Four of the ten songs on "Burlap and Satin"

Everything on "The Great Pretender" (none of the ten songs were written by Dolly)

Six of the ten songs on "White Limozeen"

Four of the twelve songs on "Slow Dancing with the Moon"

Everything on "Treasures" (none of the 12 songs were written by Dolly)

Nine of the 13 songs on "The Grass is Blue"

    Half of "Little Sparrow"

Six of the 18 songs on "For God and Country"

Everything on "Those Were the Days" (12 songs)

Six of the nine songs on "The Right Combination/Burning the Midnight Oil" duet LP with Porter Wagoner (PORTER wrote more songs on this album than Dolly!)

Six of the ten songs on "Together Always" duet with Porter (again, Porter wrote more than Dolly)

Six of the ten songs on "Love and Music" duet with Porter

So here is AT LEAST 120 songs that Dolly recorded but didn't write.

I trust this will cure you of your OCD about "Dolly writing all her own songs" once and for all, because it's simply not true.

Dolly doesnt get all the credit .She has had help and input from others in most of her songs. The difference between dolly and the other three. is she doesnt give any of the other participants ANY credit. Instead she takes all the credit..NOT saying she hasnt written any on her own. but most of them have been with help from others.

Reba writes more than half her own songs. BUT she recognizes and gives cedit to those who helped her through the process. Same goes for George straight

The other two im not to sure of. Ive never been a fan of G.Jones and Tammy.
