Oral administration of Vitamin A doses, why?

Why is Vitamin A administered orally and not intravenously to children? coz if it administered thru injection I feel the absorption wld b better and quick, then why is it given orally in oil miscible drops form?

    vitamin-A is not a drug or a vaccine to be given as a injection!!...its a dietary supplement and they come in chewabe tabs...most of the vitamins r absorbed by ur somach by the food u eat!....if u hav some deficiency due to vitamin-A then u r given multivitamin pills or the same wit added minerals!!....
