Sinusoidal wave speed?

A sinusoidal wave on a string is described by the following equation where k = 3.10 rad/cm and ω = 7.50 rad/s.

y = (0.51 cm) sin(kx + ωt)

How far does a wave crest move in 9.5 s?

I can't seem to get the correct answer for this.

    k = 2π/λ and ω = 2πf

    => ω/k = λf = v (velocity)

    => velocity, v = 7.5/3.1 cm/s

    => distance traveled by the wave in 9.5 s

    = 9.5 * (7.5) / (3.1) cm

    = 22.98 cm.
