Generally, a sideboard is made up of 15 cards for tournament play. You have your deck of 60 cards, then you have your sideboard, but you can't use cards from your sideboard until the first game of each match in the tourney.

At the start of each first match, you can switch any number of cards in your deck for the same number of cards in your sideboard.

In the previous answer, I think the person means, "AFTER the first game of each match, you can exchange any number of cards between your deck and your sideboard." When you present to shuffle for games 2 and 3, there must be exactly 15 cards in your sideboard. Or 0, if you didn't have one to begin with. Sideboard is not required.

After someone wins 2 out of 3 games, the match ends and before you face your next opponent, you must do what people call "de-sideboard". Put the 15 cards that were on your deck registration sheet into the sideboard and the rest into your deck.
