I'm 37 and now had my period for 21 days and its not stopping?
I never had a problem before. always 25 days in between cycles which lasted 5 days. a few months ago i missed two periods. Now I have been bleeding for 21days with no stop insight. went to doctor my cbc/diff were all normal ranged. went and had transvaginal ultrasound and pelvic ultrasound done only found very small cyst on my ovary which they said wouldnt cause what is going on. Have had cycsts before with no problem like this. I cant take having my period no more. I have to change almost every 1 to 2 hours passing nasty big and small blood clots too got much worse after the ultrasound but is now slowing down some to what has been going on before the ultrasound.
DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON?
I have no other symptoms of being perimemopausal
non of my other family members went through menopause or peri menopause til much older. my sister is 2 yrs older than me and hasnt even started to get symptoms of it and my mom and grandmothers didnt go through it until their mid 50's.

Continuous bleeding and passing of blood clots for about 21 days is a matter of serious concern irrespective of your age, history of exposure to sex etc., as, a continuous bleeding that too clots may soon lead you to severe anaemia with all its serious consequences. Please consult your gynaecologist immediately for a detailed pelvic examination, necessary investigations, to correct any anaemia, control the bleeding and necessary further treatment.
Matter may be treated as quite urgent please.

Doesn't sound like perimenopause, but it DOES sound like a hormone imbalance, which CAN be caused by ovarian cysts. Ovarian cysts are caused by an estrogen dominance & progesterone deficiency. I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and have had months like this too, except at one point, I bled for 40 something days on end.
What they should do (as doctors) is prescribe some progesterone therapy, like Provera. The progesterone should stop the bleeding and hopefully return you to a normal cycle next time around.
Also, if you're on birth control pills, they can also cause an estrogen dominance.
