BUCHAREST (AFP) – The International Monetary Fund said on Saturday it had suggested tax increases to curb Romania's rising public deficit but that the government chose to slash wages and pensions, which sparked massive protests this week.
That move led to mass public protests this week. Between 30,000 to 50,000 people took to the streets of Bucharest Wednesday and unions are talking about a general strike for May 31.

Only because Eastern governments don't have the security to offer, stability, or GDP to compete with US Treasury securities for capitalist created wealth at low interest.

The world is not Capitalist There is not a Capitalist crisis.
The world has sunk many time under the weight of Socialism. It is unsustainable.
A loaf of bread only makes so many sandwiches before it is used up.
One dollar has 100 pennies. You cant give 200 people a penny out of one dollar. It is unsustainable.

Borrowing money to fund government is not a capitalist system, that is an interventionist system.
Government intervention is failing around the world, yet the answer is always more intervention. Hmmm, seems foolish.

The lazy socialists are the ones rioting. You can only steal from the piggy bank so many times without adding more. They are now going to learn the hard way that there is NO free lunch.

All those people who thought "communism" was evil are starting to miss their jobs, medical care, pensions, and housing...
They thought "liberal capitalism" would keep providing that stuff, and that all that would happen when they went back to capitalism is that they would get rid of the oppressive government bureaucrats.
Well now they've lost services, and they still have the bureaucrats and secret police...
