7-5 this year, what do you AU fans think?
I'll explain the losses:
USC: Should have a great defense and Garcia is a top 3 QB in the league, I expect USC to be near the top in the East
Ark: Ark has beaten you guys the past 2 years (and thrashed ya'll last year). They return the same team so I don't see a different result.
LSU: While Miles is still coach, LSU is LOADED with talent and will have no problem stopping Malzahn's offense
UGA: This one could go either way, but I think UGA's improved defense will win them the game
Bama: Their D is too good, and the offense should be even better than last year.
@Norry, you said history isn't any indicator concerning Newton, but it is when AU has NEVER lost to LSU at home. How does that work?

Like I already said, anything less than 10-2 would be a disappointment.
Here's how I can respectfully counter the losses you list:
USC - It's at Jordan-Hare. Auburn has never lost to South Carolina. It will be a good game, but I can't see us losing, because AU's rush defense will make South Carolina one-dimensional.
My prediction: Auburn beats South Carolina, 35-21.
Arkansas - This one is hard to predict. Arkansas returns the same team. But truly, the 44-23 game last year wasn't just Arky winning, but Auburn didn't play the way they did their first 5 games. It was on the road, and their first day game of the season, in the MORNING. Todd misfired on a wide open man on the 2nd drive that would have put AU up. Auburn just played bad in that game. This time, wehave home-field advantage.
My prediction: First team to 35 wins the ball game.
LSU - Again, Auburn just DOESN'T LOSE TO LSU AT HOME. The 2008 season was our only loss at home to them last decade. That was a disaster season, and AU is in much better position this time around. Les Miles is a pretty big clutz, and they are loaded, but the thing is, they are still gonna be average with Les Miles at the helm.
My prediction: Auburn beats LSU, 25-15.
Georgia: I think Gene Chizik has something big planned for Georgia this year. We fans are tired of losing to the Dawgs and Richt. So While I had this as a N/A prediction, I think this will be a close game in the first half, only to become ugly in the 2nd half.
My prediction: Auburn crushes Georgia, 31-3.
Alabama: Ahhhh, the Iron Bowl. I NEVER predict until it's game-week. You never know what position either team will be in. Who knows, it could be #1 Auburn at Alabama or Auburn at #1 Alabama. You have to wait and see. But Bama's defense isn't TOO good. They have 2 starters returning from last year, and they are being replaced with 5-star... FRESHMEN. Their secondary lacks depth, and they know it. The offense.... Well.... Auburn shut them down to just 201 yards the first 3 quarters, so the defense will not be intimidated. However, I will say this: This Iron Bowl will be the first ever OVERTIME Iron Bowl.
Prediction: The team that performs in OT wins. I hope it's Auburn.
So I won't pick a record, because we're sort of an enigma. But with an improved defense with a 3-4 scheme and a Cam Newton-Gus Malzahn punch, this Auburn team could win some big things... soon.
War Damn/Cam Eagle!
Source(s): EDIT: By the way, Cam Newton was camoflauged in the spring game. He didn't even PLAY the 2nd half. He threw ONE pass that went beyond the first down marker. Plus, he can also RUN the ball, and Chizik wouldn't let him do it in the spring game. That's what the orange jersey is for. Also, history isn't a big indicator. JUCO transfer QBs haven't done too hot, but there are some JUCO transfers who made big differences. Would Bama have won the title without Terrance Cody? No. Another thing, Cam is not NEW to the SEC. He played a few drives for the Florida Gators, scoring 2 touchdowns (1 against Tennessee, 1 against Hawaii). History is an indicator..... but history is made every day. You don't know how he'll do. Besides, we saw at A-Day.... He has a ROCKET. - deacon_frost06Lv 51 decade ago
ok I'll try to follow up Norry with some different reasonings..
USC.. they'll have Freshman ALL-SEC RB Marcus Lattimore.. but I think Auburn knows him better than Spurrier does at this point due to the recruiting process and game tapes.. but this is Spurrier he'll not commit to the run.. and he does that then Auburn counters Garcia with 7 deep in DB's with SEC starting experience.. I just don't see USC moving the ball well vs Auburn on the road in what will likely be a night game at Jordan-Hare.. and I just don't see a Spurrier Defense slowing down Cam Newton enough.. good game for 3 Quarters but Auburn pulls away for a 35-17 win late
Ark.. Auburn returns 17 starters that went on the road 5-0 last year and played poorly for the first time all season last year.. those guys remember that.. and most of them will be Seniors.. I think Auburns secondary will be HUGE in this game and I think they slow the Hogs and Ryan Mallett down enough to let the offense run up some points on what will be the worst Defense in the SEC
LSU.. well hard to make an argument for an Auburn win.. I picked Auburn to lose this game.. gonna be a war that might remind people of the 2004 game though.. Auburn will come in rowdy playing at home after that blowout last year in Baton Rouge.. and LSU will come in rowdy because of the 4th and goal TD ran in by Auburn with seconds on the clock last year
UGa.. this will be personal for Auburn.. tired of losing to Richt..
Alabama.. they'll be good on offense.. but I think they'll have more trouble moving the ball than people think.. losing Colin Peek (#1 pass catching threat in '09) will hurt.. no other PROVEN guy on that team to catch the ball (don't even try to say Julio.. he can't catch and might not even be on Offense).. Alabama's D is going to be taking a MAJOR step back in '10 as well.. Hightower and Dareus will be nasty good but the other 9? who knows.. I wouldn't pick a Freshman vs Gus Malzahn ever tho
I picked 11-1 with a loss to LSU.. sticking with that unless something dramatic changes my mind before the season

7-5 regular season at best........Carolina-LOSS....Arkansas-LOSS...LSU-LOSS...Georgia-LOSS and last but definitely not least at Alabama-LOSS!....hell the game at ole miss isn't a given...clemson and kentucky(beat the Barn last year at home) could go either way...the SEC is Alabama and Florida at the top with the other 10 teams fighting for 3rd

ive always liked auburn, but this year... I WILL NOT!!!!!!! Why? because of their new Halfback out of Little Rock Christian (Michael Dyer)... My school (Magnolia Panthers) beat his team all 3 years... and last year he sat outside my locker room at OUR stadium and said "this is my house" everytime one of my players came out the locker room... he spit dip on our walkway and... he is just an unbelievable jerk...
