If he works then arrange for a florist nearby to deliver a huge bunch of multicoloured, helium filled balloons to him at his work. Of course there should be a heartfelt message included too.
He'll never expect that and will be well chuffed. Plus, his workmates will see that he has someone who really cares for him a lot.

I think you should get him something that maybe you two had a inisde joke about or something that would make him say "oh she remembered!" You may also want to get him something that reveals your true feelings about him. just some suggestions. hope u like it
