Breakfast Food Question?

Can anyone tell me the difference between a Western Omelet and a Denver Omelet. I have had Western Omelets before but the other one is obviously different other than the name.

A Denver omelette, also known as a Western omelette, is an omelette filled with diced ham, onions, and green bell peppers, though there are many variations on fillings. Often served in the midwestern United States and sometimes has a topping of cheese and a side dish of hashbrowns or fried potatoes.[citation needed]

Denver and Western are similar, but not the same. Basically a Denver omelette is a Western omelette with cheese added.

The easy way to remember is if you re out in the searing heat, working hard herding cattle, and your belly is full of cheese, you re going to be looking for an outhouse which is likely waaaaaay back at the ranch.

Having worked in a kitchen for more than one famous chef, the difference was beaten like an egg into the head of everyone who might come close to touching a Denver or Western omelette. Dump the cheese to make it Western.
