We will never know who first discovered Mars. The Egyptians from 1570 B.C. called Mars by the god name of "Horus of the Horizon" and depicted it as a man with a hawk's head. They also observed the planet "going backwards" refering to what we now know as retrograde motion. Aristotle (384BC- 322BC) was among the first known writers to set down observations of Mars. In 1609, Galileo was the first to view Mars by telescope.

No-one discovered Mars. Mars is easily visible with the naked eye, so it has been known to the most ancient humans even before any kind of 'discovery' could have ever been recorded.

Unknown. Mars and Venus are easily visible, and because of this lots of people knew of them before anyone realized they were planets.
