Is it wrong to wish someone would revert?

Aslamualaikum,

I keep on praying for someone to revert. I'm so afraid for them. I'm so afraid my friend might end up in hell.

May Allah SWT guide us all. Allah SWT is very merciful. Inshallah Allah SWT will help us all with our difficulties.

Ameen =)

Please keep me in your prayers =)

NO, it's not wrong to want someone to go to heaven instead of hell, that shows how much you care. What's "wrong" is "wishing," you should pray, not wish. But, that is technical, I know what you mean, and I slip up all the time, too.

You sound like a loving, caring friend, and you need to keep praying for your friend to revert. Good luck.

Oh no it is definitely not, Allah tell us in the quran :

kuntum khaira umatin ukreejatin nas tamoorona bil maroofee wa tanhouna bin munkar

meaning ur the best of ppl for u enjoin good and forbid what is wrong and part of enjoining truth is to make other realize bout the islamic monotheism

Also when ppl like Zakir Naik and all do their bit, it is Allah swt who helps them revert so ur doing the right thing pray n tactfully tell her bout islam and pray hard to Allah inshallah if Allah wills, u never know :-)

    peace

Wishing is not going to help anyone but no there is nothing wrong with praying for someone to revert. You are only doing so because you care for them and there is nothing wrong with that. I pray that many people I love dearly do and that Allah is merciful with them. I agree with you sister May Allah (swt) guide us all and help us all Insha Allah...

    Walikum Salaam.

Wa alaikum salam. No it is not wrong to wish someone to revert. But it is better if your du'a supported by hard effort to make da'wah to him/her or let an imam give da'wah to him/her how good is Islam. If your effort is successful you will have great rewards from Allah swt.Du'a only without effort is weak.We must convince ourselves that in every difficulty there is an easiness.Allah swt would not give burden to us more that we can bear it Insya Allah your wish will be occurred.

I say yes, it is wrong and I've said this before. you believe what you like and I do not differentiate whether it is Muslim, Christian, Judaism or any other belief. It is wrong to try to force your opinion on others by prayer or any other means.

How would you like me to continually tell you you are wrong and that you all should pray to the moon god like me.

Respect others beliefs as I do, wether you think they are right or wrong.

In the end we must all make our own decisions and stand by them.

  • WaalikumusSalam,

How are you sister? How could it be wrong? Your asking Allah to guide them and your making dua for their guidance, therefore its not wrong at all instead it's the best thing your doing for them...We should all make duas for ourselves and for others that may Allah guide us all and guide them all as well..

Of course your in our prayers sister..

    I hope I helped

No, that is not wrong at all to have love and concern for others so you do not want them to suffer in hell. Of course you should pray Allah might turn their hearts. I will keep you in my prayers, I think others will, and please you keep all of us here in your prayers too. I want to keep all my brothers and sisters, of all the different sects and despite our disagreements, we are all Muslims, to keep you all in my prayers. Salams.

Arabs think an Arab who drinks and fornicates all day is a better Muslim than a Bangladeshi who prays Fajr in the masjid, because he is an Arab
