cowboys boots, cowboy hats, country music....?

....well I would say Tennessee,Texas and Missouri(Branson)

New York...because that is about as country as any of the singers and that's were all of that really stems from. You can say Tennessee just because of the Grand Ole Opry...or Texas because everyone assimilates Texas with Cowboys That is total BS too the greater majority of "cowboys" are in West Texas in regards to that state but really a "true" cowboy and real ranches are better acquainted with not only extreme West Texas but also New Mexico, Arizona, Northern California, Colorado, Wyoming Idaho North and South Dakota to some extent and parts of Oregon.

Point being country music is no more country than hip hop or rock. There are some variances I would consider country ie. Red Dirt Country and even blue grass has more country roots in this day and age.

Tennessee - the country music capital of the world. Texas would be a close second. Kentucky (my home), comes in third. All the other states tie for fourth.

Texas is certainly the first state that comes to mind when I think about cowboys.

Of course, I don't just think of some great country artists such as George Strait when I think about Texas, but I also think of great Texas blues artists such as Stevie Ray Vaughan.
