Can you give more details about how it crashes? (Screen freeze, blue screen of death, immediate shutdown with no warnings, error messages galore, etc)

Every file present in your registry contains a command or direction for every program and application on your computer. Registry files are the files that give your computer the instructions for what to do next. If these registry files get corrupt or misplaced, your computer fails to understand what to do. In these instances, your computer loses control, eventually leading to a crash.At this stage the priority is to fix these registry files. In such situations it is suggested that you do not try to fix the registry yourself. Immediately find registry cleaner software and scan your computer to locate any errors. This software will identify all the missing entries or errors, restoring them right away. In many cases, your computer will be back to normal. It is recommended that you run this software once a month for best results. I should like to commend Registry Easy http://computer-work-smooth.com/

Generally speaking, the reasons causing crash are various, such as virus infecting, required files loosing, registry damage...So first you need to judge which one is yours blongs to.
You said you deleted some pictures. Maybe in the process, you delete some important files in accident. You can use some RECOVERY SOFTWARE (Wondershare data recovery, I think useful) to retrieve them.
Actually, the best way to solve crash is to backup and restore system. And now there is a new way which is very effective to restore system.
1)Create snapshots when the system is fine;
2)When you want to restore system, select the snapshot you want the system to be;
3)Reboot, in 20s, it's OK!
Try it! http://www.disk-utilities.com/system-restore/
Hope it's helpful to you!

A factor could be the amount of RAM your computer has. IF it is quite low and you are running a lot of programs at once, this could cause it to crash
Hope this helps
