SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT ON? BRAKE PROBLEM?

Ok so the light isnt on all the time but just before it comes on I feel a slight vibration thru the brake pedal or kind of hear a humm then the light comes on, and I have no abs, trac lock, when light is on . If I go in reverse a couple of times while hitting the brakes then shut the car off the light will stay off from any where of 5 mins. to 3 days? when it is off all applications work, but when I feel that vibration all the previous conditions happen...

Update:

opps its a 2002 cevy cavalier auto, I have replaced the brakes pads rotors front hubs both sides, seems the light doesnt come on if its raining? if it is the abs what should I check? thanks

Could be several things-several problems at once. Possibly the car simply needs brake pads and rotors. When rotors get warped on a car it can cause a vibration feeling in the brake pedal. I dont know if that would affect or cause any warning light to come on though.

The light will probably stay on that long until it completes another drive cycle. But I think you have a problem with your ABS system. There's something going on there that's making it come on when it doesn't need too. What year, make, and model is the vehicle?

It would help a lot if you would mention the Make, Model, and Year of your vehicle.

It's probably a ABS problem, the vibration you feel is probably the ABS kicking in when it shouldn't.
