what colour is the product of distilled water in KI/H+?
i need help with this. i did a lab in school and when i mixed colourless distilled water with colourless KI/H, i got a yellow colour but i'm not sure if it's right. also, in this case, would KI/H+ be a reducing or oxidising agent?

It looks like the H+ oxidized some of the Iodide ions to free iodine (I2) which is giving the solution the yellow color.
the oxidizing agent would be the H+ ion and the reducing agent would be the I- ion.

Depending on the acid used, you can form iodine, which gives a yellow colour in aqueous solution. Iodide would be the reducing agent, and the acid is the oxidising agent.
