What species does Didymo belongs to?

For science, I am researching on Didymo or Didymosphenia geminata and I am currently trying to find what species it belongs to. It is an invasive exotic plant. Please respond, thanks!

    As Didymosphenia happens to be a genus, it doesn't belong to any species. D. geminata, on the other hand, is a species that belongs to the just mentioned genus. Trying to find out which species a genus is a member of isn't a good idea.
