Classic rock fans: just for fun, classic rock bands you DONT like or find overrated?
I grew on alot of classic rock (I'd generally say that means mid 60s to mid 80s) and I love alot of those bands, but then there's also some I just could never get into much if at all, and a few that irritate the sh** out of me, lol.
It seems like it's almost sacrelidge in the classic rock world to diss Zeppelin, but I could never get into them at all (it's too raw and similar sounding for me I guess) and it's annoying how the rock stations still overplay them.
I'd also say The Who, Pink Floyd and Nirvana (early 90s could blend in a bit too now) have a couple good songs, but are mostly horribly overrated as a whole.

AC/DC and Kiss
In my opinion are overrated. I just really don't like anything about them, but there's so many people that LOVE them.

Classic rock is just that, Classic. Each performer (group or indiviual) performed as it or he/she related to music. Therefore, it is fine if one does not like some band, or feel it is overrated. It is how the listener perceives the music. An example of this is the Beatles song, "Come Together". Classic work. But, there is a version performed by Aerosmith, that I very much dislike. Don't get me wrong, I like Aerosmith. I DON'T have an appreciation for their rendition of "Come Together", even though it is basically the same song. And, addressing your issue of Led Zeppelin, I like Led Zeppelin, but I have days that I really wish they were not playing Zeppelin music on the air. Depends on the mood. I struggle with Ocasek and the Cars.

Van Halen (overrated and I don't like them)
Bon Jovi (don't like them)
Pink Floyd (kind of overrated with their album 'The Dark Side Of The Moon'. I've always considered 'Wish You Were Here' as their best)
Kiss (don't like them)
But overall, the Classic Rock band that I dislike the most
The Eagles

First off I HATE the term overrated, I just hate it, but erm bands that are really hyped that I just didn't get into includes, Led Zep, any hair metal especially Guns N Roses, Oasis and Blur and britpop, cannot stand it erm I like Radiohead but don't think OK Computer is that great, erm just thinking, Rush erm but I love Nirvana on the contrary.

Cream, for one. Don't get me wrong though...Clapton is a good guitarist and I like some of Cream's songs but, quite honestly, they're quite overrated. Clapton is also a much better blues guitarist than he is a rock guitarist but, overall, I'd say his guitar work does tend to be overrated (not bad--just overrated).
The Who is another band I find to be overrated, but one that I also don't like at all. If you ask me, Roger Daltrey is a much better actor than he is a singer!
Some others that certainly would make it onto my list, with whether I don't like them, think they're overrated or both listed next to each artist's name, would include:
The Rolling Stones (overrated...and I don't like them)
Creedence Clearwater Revival (overrated, but I like them)
Black Sabbath [in the years with Osbourne on vocals] (overrated and I'm not crazy about them...with Dio on vocals, however, their music got much better and I liked them a lot with that lineup)
Janis Joplin (overrated...not a fan at all)
Anyway, that's just to name a few, but there certainly are others.

I'm with you on The Who. If I hear Magic Bus one more time...
Steely Dan makes me nauseous.
Very few Beatles songs impress me at all.
My quality of life would improve tenfold if I never had to listen to AC/DC again.
Clapton (especially solo) is a total bore.
I find the Doobie Brothers generally irritating.
And something about Santana just doesn't agree with my ears.

I agree with you on Nirvana.
I honestly cannot see what is so great about Guns N Roses. That's just my opinion, though.
