Well, this depends entirely on what state you are in. Each state gets to make its own laws (democracy and all) and they differ quite a bit depending on what part of the country you are in.

Some states allow fathers to stop paying child support when they are unemployed, or take a cut from any unemployment benefits they may be receiving. In other states if the father cannot pay they are sent to jail for nonpayment, no matter what the reason is.

Myself and most of the fathers I know will break our necks for our kids. I worked myself to death literally ended up in the hospital trying to pay that child support

In Canada a mother can keep the kids away from the father indefinitely by coming up with a series of accusations and slander. By the time you prove it twenty years has passed and a ton of money

I went back to court and had the back child support removed and again she walked away without having to answer for the kids or repay the back child support she owed after the give and take was down in writing.

Had she tried to be civil she could of had her money and the children their father and no mud would have been slung

Now things are still in tatters some 16 years later

So did she win sure What?

I was in that situation a few months ago. I went up to the child support office and told them my situation. They gave me a short amount of time to find another job so that I wouldn't go into arrears by not paying.

In most cases, they dont' care if us fathers can pay or not. But sometimes the courts can be reasonable, like in mine.

Why should they have to pay for the womans mistake?

Source(s): Its the WOMANS choice to take her birth control, if she doesn't she should be SOLELY responsible. We are not your ATMS ladies. Get a job.
