What happens when the pitcher is ejected?

In major league baseball, if a pitcher is ejected, how long/how many pitches does the reliever get to warm up? Does he get the standard 8 pitches or is it treated as though a player had been injured and he can take as long as he thinks he needs?

No, the pitcher would get as many pitches as needed to warm up. The same thing happens when a pitcher leaves for an injury... the replacement pitcher has as much time as needed to get warmed up. The reason for this is why should the relief pitcher have to suffer just because his teammate got ejected.

Probably just 8. I don't really know because I never count when I see the reliever throwing and they always go to a commercial on TV.

I'd say they give him 8..
