Do Americans seriously think the British people have anything to do with the oil spill?

Our anger is with the irresponsible oil company (BP), not the British people in general.

I have seen a few questions blaming the british for the oil spill

as i understand it BP leased the site from an american company

British people have virtually no say in what happens in Britain , a lot of people object to being in the EU but like i say we don't make many decisions and certainly none that would affect where BP chooses to lease a site

i feel desperately sorry for the people who have lost their livelihoods and for the animals and wildlife , the greedy careless idiots who caused this need to be in Court and stand trial for the destruction they have caused

Well it is british owed but im not blaming the Brit people . I do however look down at the company and there crappy government that allows shady companies to exist . Not saying much about american government giving them all the permits either . As far as the british people i think there a great people that gets lied to by big business and government just like we do .

I don't recall Americans blaming British people for the spill. You should consider questioning your current source of information.

Over here we don't like oil drilling, we don't like coal, we don't like solar power, we don't like wind power because it kills birds, we don't like nuclear power, we don't like natural gas for some reason, we grow corn and change it into fuel etc.
