Chain of visual processing?

We're going over sight right now in my neuroanatomy class and I don't seem to be grasping it very well. Can someone just run through the basic steps and a simplified version of what goes on for me? I've tried Googling it and can't seem to find anything basic that will help me understand exactly what the processes are.

Thanks!

Visual processing is the sequence of steps that information takes as it flows from visual sensors to cognitive processing. The sensors may be zoological eyes or they may be cameras or sensor arrays that sense various portions of the electromagnetic spectrum.
