Twilight Question: Why is Angela Weber's boyfriend's name Ben in the book, but Eric in the movie?

Ben and Eric from the book were combined into one character for the film, just like Lauren and Jessica. And while the combination of Lauren and Jessica got the name Jessica, the combination of Ben and Eric got the name Eric. It was really just one of the things that was changed for the film. But I personally loved Ben's character in the book!

Ben is a character in the book who was more or less combined with Eric in the movies to make one character. Much like Jessica and Lauren (other character in the books not present in the movies) were combined into one. Just creates less characters so it's less confusing, and they don't get much screen time anyway so it's not important.

Just to add, Eric didn't date anyone in the books I don't think, unless I'm not remembering...

The movies left out many characters from the books. Ben and Lauren, are two characters that seemed to be semi-involved in the books, but cut in the movies. Many times movies and books are similar, but still different. For example: In Twilight, did you notice that the timing of the accident in the school parking lot was before school in the book, but after school in the movie? It's just a common occurrence between books and movies. If you watch carefully, you will be able to find many, many more differences.

i'm incredibly incredibly inspired with the names. because ben wasn't important enough to put in the movie, so instead of wasting time on having Ben they just decided to make Angela and eric a couple

um...I'm pretty sure Eric is the name of Angela's boyfriend in the books also....
