I am frustrated about my fathers illness?

My father has been getting pancreatic attacks for a couple years now. I am always so mad every time he gets one. I wish I felt more compassion, but I feel so mad at him. I don't even want to call him. Help me change my outlook.

  • I know how you feel. My mother was diagnosed with panic disorder. She's fully recovered now, but I would feel so frustrated because she would never listen to me. Its as if she didnt care.

You should find pictures of your father (with you) or family videos before the pancreatic attacks...

Alcohol and gallstones are usually the cause of pancreatic attacks. Its very important your father avoids alcohol.

Maybe you would feel less frustrated if you researched more on your fathers illness, (which can be fatal) if not managed.

Enzymes destroy the pancreas causing swelling and inflammation. Its called autodigestion. That means they're eating the pancreas. This can damage the blood vessels, lead to a hemmorhage.

Is your father getting treatment? Make sure he eats well, a low fat diet.

You're father should have your full support. Try to cheer him up, tell him jokes, be kind.
