So, lets say the Japanese were still invading your country, as they did in WWII. Would a ship carrying "aid" to them be considered a legitimate target of war? Would Australian forces boarding that ship and dealing with the resistance on that ship be considered "pirates"?

Do keep in mind that these ships are bringing aid to a group that regularly fires rockets into urban areas, and sends suicide bombers into areas filled with civilians. I hardly think that intercepting and occupying the "aid" ships is an act of piracy.

It's only piracy if they were outlaws. These people are not outlaws, they are members of the Israeli Navy and Special Forces. It's a police action.
