question about the book i'm writing?
Okay, it's a book about a super-hero, but most of those have already been made into comic books or movies before they are books. Can you just make a book about a super hero without a comic book being made first?

yes, you can.
Most super hero books stem from comics or cartoons because that's how they became popular in the first place.
A book about a super hero that nobody knows about can sell just as well as a book about a super hero that has been in a comic book and sold a lot of copies.
Harry Potter is a super hero that never had a comic book, for example.

Most certainly you could write such a book! I suggest while doing so that you omit the word "okay" from the beginning of a sentence unless it is in dialogue form. Dialogue must be comfortable, everyday language to suit the character, but the narrative is more formal. Learn the differences and you will do well.
As a side suggestion, pick up a copy of Strunk and White's, "The Elements of Style." It will be a worthwhile investment for you or any writer.

I think that's actually a really good idea. I've never read a book about superheros, and I think it would be kind of cool for those of us that like superheros but don't want to read a comic book.
Who knows, you could be starting a whole other genre of literature.
Good luck and happy writing :)
