Guitarpicker
Retired Army Airborne and Civil Service. I can still run a mile--if absolutely necessary. I enjoy the craft of writing among other things. And, of course, I love the guitar, having played since August, 1956.
How can I answer a question when the "submit" button is absent?
3 AnswersYahoo Answers7 years agoLDS: Do you have your 72-hour kit prepared and ready to go?
The prophets and apostles have been telling us since 1936 to get food stocked and now the 72-hour kit for emergency evacuations. Even non-Church members are getting into the act of forming kits for emergencies to come.
What are your hurdles in getting the kit finished and placed somewhere near for instant recovery in the event you must leave your home because of a disaster?
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat are the seven primary families of the Lakota (Sioux)?
I can think of only the Oglala, the Hunkpapa, the Sans Arc, the Brulé and the Mineconjou. What two families have I missed?
2 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups1 decade agoWhat is your interpretation of Ezekiel 37: 16-20?
A "stick" was a scroll of sheepskin or parchment used for recording religious and secular information, rolled upon a stick of wood. The Stick of Judah is the Holy Bible, the books written by the prophets and apostles of the Lord.
What is the Stick of Ephraim? Do you realize this prophesy of Ezekiel has been fulfilled?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoOrchid Growers: Should the orchid spike be pruned after blooming?
Presently, one blossom remains on a two-foot spike. The plant has done well since before Christmas, but is now in its declining period with no subsequent blooms coming forth.
3 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoATTN: Attornies. Is a Last Will and Testament null and void if it's modified, dated and signed by the owner?
I modified (altered) only one paragraph in my Last Will and Testament. With that done, must I have a new Will prepared to justify any legal requirements after my death? I am a Louisiana resident.
7 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoFor U.K. residents: Do you know of any Bruortons in your area?
The previous spelling of the surname was Brereton before the Civil War of 1611. The name changed as a result of two factions; one in support of the King and his government, the others rebelling under the same.
The last known locale for those carrying the surname of Bruorton was Middlesex, England, around the early 1800s. Any names, dates of birth, death, and spousal information is requested. Even occupations would be useful.
4 AnswersGenealogy1 decade agoWhy is censorship of certain words allowed and the "F" word not?
A few words that are automatically censored, such as, the "N" word and the three-letter word for rear-end, are quickly blackened out by using asterisks in their place. But the infamous "F" word runs rampant on this board among other sexually explicit words better left to their biological terms.
It seems to me this is a double-standard played by Yahoo!
3 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoWho among the guitarists on this board can play "The Flight of the Bumblebee" through one sitting?
This classic song was originally composed by N. Rimsky-Korsakoff and played only by piano for many years before the guitarist decided to tackle it.
The entire piece is written in sixteenth notes for the first part and eighth and quarter notes for the second guitar part.
It is the most challenging song I've encountered.
