No. The "targets" are perfect in that they remain elusive and undefined. This keeps open the "threat" that our leaders must "protect " us from; providing of course we give them the power they need. Consider also the "war on drugs" whose really winning that one? Each night in every city in America armies of combat soldiers bash down doors conduct searches and take suspects. The police powers of government continue to grow and civil liberty declines all in the name of the war on drugs. The war on terror is just the same game on an international level. Indeed war has always been best friends with big politics.

Look, if a foreign army that is, for all intents and purposes, at war boards my vessel at sea when they lack the authority to do so, I will stand protest. I will ask them under what authority they are acting.

What I will /not/ do is attack them with clubs the moment their feet touch my deck, throw their soldiers from one deck to another, take their guns and start shooting at them. Why? Because /that/ is the first act of violence. Boarding a foreign-flag ship in international waters is an error, but it is not an attack. It may even be justified, particularly if there is reasonable cause to suspect that those ships are supporting terrorists.

The proper response to an 'illegal' boarding is not to immediately start assaulting the boarders (unless you're dealing with pirates), so don't be so quick to say the Israelis are the terrorists.

Strange that I have never witnessed an Israeli suicide bomber in my lifetime. Maybe those hundreds that I heard on the news were actually Israeli instead of being who most terrorists are.... followers of a sickening form of Islam.
